16 award-winning MIDAS PRO microphone preamplifiers
The MIDAS mic preamp is considered by leading live sound and recording engineers to be the very essence of the famous MIDAS sound. More than 40 years of design experience paired with the finest choice of premium grade components lead to the acclaimed warmth and depth, bring out subtle ambience, maintain spatial positioning, and more effectively capture a precise image. The acclaimed sound of the award winning MIDAS PRO microphone preamplifier has inspired generations of live sound engineers to their best work, creating sonic landscapes that have captivated audiences worldwide. The DL16 features the very same preamp found in the highly-acclaimed PRO Series consoles.

Eight electronically balanced low impedance line level outputs
All of the DL16’s inputs and outputs have been designed by our expert MIDAS engineers to handle both balanced and unbalanced signals, removing any worries about signal degradation, noise and crosstalk interference. The DL16 also features dual Cirrus Logic* Digital to Analogue converters, providing a reduced noise floor and lower distortion, and post-DAC filtering to remove wide-band noise.

ULTRANET personal monitoring system connectivity for in-ear applications
The ULTRANET port on the DL16 lets you connect directly to the POWERPLAY P16 system, which lets each performer take control of their own monitor mix. This allows you to concentrate on what's most important; giving your full attention to the matter at hand and treating the audience to a flawless sonic experience without missing a beat.

Dual ADAT outputs for use in splitter mode and stand-alone digital multicore applications
Many manufacturers have adopted the ADAT digital interface as a means of transferring digital data between certain types of audio devices, such as mixers, synthesizers, lighting rigs and effect processors. With the DL16’s dual ADAT outputs, you can simply connect to any ADAT-compatible outboard devices.

Dual AES50 ports for cascading DL16 units—no merger or router required
Connecting over a single shielded (STP) CAT5 cable, up to three DL16s can be daisy-chained to deliver 48 channels in and 24 out to the stage. AES50 simultaneously provides high channel counts, extremely low and deterministic latencies, accurate phase-aligned networked clock distribution, error detection, network redundancy, with simple deployment and ease of use to meet the needs of the live performance industry. This unique combination also benefits both live and studio recording applications, as well as post-production, broadcasting and audio routing infrastructure.

Remote operation up to 100 m via CAT5/5e cable
Communicating between the stage and Front of House was never easier. The DL16’s ingenious monitoring / head amp control section allows you to select any one of the 16 inputs or eight bus outputs for immediate line checks. In addition to signal metering at the stage box, you can set individual channel gain, apply +48 V phantom power, plus you have the option listening directly to the input signal.

All settings programmable from front panel controls or console
The DL16 can be controlled either from the front panel, or via the console, with up to 100 m networking capability via a single CAT5 cable. Once set, all configuration settings can be locked at the console for total system security.

Status indicator LEDs on front panel
Each of the 16 Neutrik* XLR inputs is equipped with a status indicator LED, which illuminates to show when the +48 V phantom power is used, providing instant clarity ans ease of use.

Headphones output assignable to any of the inputs or outputs for on-stage monitoring
For easy set up and routing verification, look no further than the on-stage monitoring facility, accessed via a simple ¼" jack socket, conveniently located on the front of DL16. With this, you have the option of listening directly to any of the 16 inputs via headphones. Simply select the signal that you need to monitor by scrolling through each of the 16 channels, adjusting the gain where needed, and change the operating mode, all via a single, robust rotary.

MIDI In/Out for bidirectional communication between FOH console and on-stage MIDI devices
Using scene automation has never been simpler or more convenient. The automation scenes allow MIDI to be incorporated, so that the external MIDI-compatible devices can be controlled as part of the scene change via your console's MIDI output. Additionally, console events can be triggered from an external MIDI source via your console's MIDI input. You can also control the gain and phantom power settings remotely using the MIDI communication functionality.

Features Neutrik etherCon* AES50 and ULTRANET network ports
The DL16 utilises Neutrik* connections throughout, ensuring a continuation of the MIDAS level of quality from the beginning to the end of the signal path.

Rugged 2U rackmount chassis for durability in portable applications
Housed in a road-ready, rugged 19" 2U rack-mountable chassis, the DL16 is ideally suited for storage in standard flight cases.
